2014 CNY Post -Sekinchan 1 Day Trip

Wassup ya'all...

OMG........

CNY 2014 had just passed with a blink of eye...

I still remember myself keep counting down the days to CNY since last year december..

And so do this long lost track post...

So Beware...Due to my laziness..hahaha..

This post will be a compressed one on how i spend my CNY ya...(would be abit long) 

We went for a trip during CNY Chor 4..with the LU Families members...

But anyway...

I was hoping to write down everything eventhough it was already backdated like 2 months...

Hehe...

First of all..

Let me show you some of my Chinese New year OOTD & pictures..

My little sis & me infront of my Grandma house

I dont know about others...

But my family ourself have our own tradition..

Which is we will stay overnight in our granparents( father's side) from the day before Chor 1 until Chor 3.

Three generations here..( My sis,mom,grandma and me)

These pictures above were snapped before we're heading out for our Annual CNY reunion dinner which is located at Tanjung Malim.

I had forgotten the restaurant's name oh my god..I told you i have such serious short memories..

But actually the food they served was not that impressed afterall...meh.... :x

The twins and their spouse ( My mom and my aunt lah) 

After our reunion dinner...we actually forgotten to snap a family group .(We actually snapped one in out Sekinchan trip!)

So the next day was CHOR 1....

Yeahhhh....I quickly woke up and greet my grandparents and parents GONG XI FA CAI in order to get our ang paos!!! Hehehehehhe...

Then later I went back home to dress up my little one Rainie...

Do you miss her?? She is doing fine now too^^

Oh ya..and our OOTD... Suprisingly...My daughter's qi pao is way more expensive than mine lor ='(

Hehehehe...but she is pretty on it..so who cares.. 开心就好..hehe..

Okay....Enough of my vain....

The rest of my day I spent by going to many many relatives houses..etc....well...kinda bored i know..

Then my 姑姑..suggested that we should pay a visit to Sekinchan.

It was suddenly a hot place burning up its popularity dunno from where..

Hahaha...One of our relatives from my dad side happened to stay there...

Our plan is set by then.. We went to pay a visit to our relative and ask our relative to brings us around those famous place..

CHOR 4 : Family Trip to Sekinchan

We woke up at around 6.30am and gathered all 5 cars at our grandma's house and here we go!

All the way are bumpy roads....Oh how we miss this road..

Back then...we always travel to Sekinchan during CNY as one of my grandma's sister live there..

But since she passed away few years ago...we never visit there anymore...

After almost 2 hours of "roller coaster" journey...

Here we are ! At our passed grandaunt's house!

Camwhore at a big mirror is US (The vain families) hahahah..

Oh ya...did you noticed my new phone..hiak hiak hiak.....

The boyfie manage to to join us as well....Say Peace =)

We were told that we arrived too early and the tide is still there...

*F.Y.I...Our main intention to visit Sekinchan is to catch & collect clamps nearby the seaside*

So we went to the nearest coffee shop and had our breakfast 1st..

After that we proceed to a temple which is just right infront of the beach..

There's a few of these tree house built right beside the temple.

You guys... if you watched the famous TVB Drama "Outbound Love"单恋双城。。

This is a famous spot eh^^

Durian Cendol anyone? or perhaps ABC? hehe....

 I will name it.... THE TREE OF HOPE...
Lol....luan luan lai..XD Must respect kay..

Hahahaha~the second after i named it and had a wish..
Immediately we kinda had some funny shot right below the tree..
Shooo...no repsect at all... haha..

Oh hi....We love Sekinchan (not their hot weather) as well too =D

It's time  for the LALA(clamps) Party Babey~!!!

We drove about 10 minutes away from the temple and reached a place call Pantai Redang...Oh wait WAIT???

Yeah..It's really called Pantai Redang ...for sure their sand is really smooking hot i guess..

Ohhhh lala......Look at those rocks......

It's really not a decent place for you guys to built a sand castle here or even swim here..

because it's not possible lah....

When the tides comes back...all of these places( included where my families are sitting or stand) will be flooded by sea waters....=D

The twins are also busy digging for clamps...

This lady here was well prepared for this trip...She even prepared basket for us and also gloves..

Of course the kids are enjoying themselves too^^

Dont judge me hello....I am busying snapping nice pictures and gave shades for those who doesnt have an umbrella..! Those were my dad's clamp!

We spent around half and hour there and head back to my grandaunt's home.
Check out these clampssss....Dang.......!!!!

Althought their size is not that big but I head my aunt said they already cooked it on the next day.
They tasted really sweet and juicy!Oh my god....I asked mom where are ours..
Sadly..she told me she left our bucket at my grandaunt's home.
Haiyo....

After our lunch...Our relative brought us to the Rice factory..
Hmm..Nothing much at there lah...
But still my dad paid few of us to let us have a tour aboout rice grains..
It was RM4 for each person for the entry i think...

We looks serious here dont we?
Actually the purpose of us coming in is not really listening to the person in charge here..
We're here to enjoy the cool cool air-cond!!!
Wahhahahahahah~~Boh Bian lah...
Outside the scorching sun too hot liao!!!><

After the explanation,We're lead to some museum kind gallery....To have a look at how the machines got improves in many years...

My brother insisted to take this picture of him getting on a machine ..
Lol...with the red tank background...Yeng or no? HAHAHHAHA
After this we visited another temple again which is located in the middle of those paddy fields...
I am too exhausted to snap pictures by that time ...
So no pictures lo...><
Ans it's almost 4pm already...time for us to say goodbye with our relatives...
Then we start heading home....
What really happened afthe that is...

WE NEARLY GONE LOST IN THE PADDY & PALM TREE FARM!!
omg....

This is the view from our car....
All bumpy and sandstone roads....
Dirt & dust is flying up everywhere whenever we passed through...
The worst thing is  our mobile dont even have any GPS signal...

The more we drive far....the more we're scared and worried..
But luckily at last we saw a road sign which is heading to Tanjung Malim...
Phewwwww.......

We reached home around 6.30pm...considered early leh ^^
and we're all tired and sunburned....
But overall it was a nice trip and everyone showed up ...!!

Thank you everyone who joined this trip! And thanks to our relatives who willing to spent their time on bringing us to few fun spots in Sekinchan..

We will definitely visit there again!!

The Making Of Nian Gao (年糕）

Longgggggg time to see...
Oh man ....I skipped my blog for all those favourite festive seasons (birthday,christmas etc) of mine~!
Dang....I believe you'd already know if I didnt update about it or just decided to skip it..
It means really NOTHING special about it....
I mean...It was just another day of ,i wake up ..i farted...i hungry..i eat..i sleep...
Except the bf brought me to TS and Pavilion to window shopping hahahhahaaaaa***bitter smile**
Anyway.I did write about it in Dayre...

Back to the topic....
The making of Nian Gao...
For those non chinese readers or friendsof mine...
It is called as Kuih Bakul in malay and in english...I suppposed it's called  Chinese New Year's sweet rice cake.

Some basic information of this cake 
The Chinese word 粘 (nián), meaning "sticky", is identical in sound to 年, meaning "year", and the word 糕 (gāo), meaning "cake" is identical in sound to 高, meaning "high or tall". As such, eating nian gao has the symbolism of raising oneself taller in each coming year

Geddit??hehehhehehe..NO?
Nevermind lah...It is basically just a type of traditional CNY food.

So....One day....
Aunty leong(one of my mom's friend) suggested that we should make some nian gao for the upcoming CNY .
She had been helping out her grandmother for almost 20 years to make the nian gao for sell.
Back in those days....Nian gao was one of the most seller during CNY..

After Aunty Leong grandma passed away for quiet some time...she wanted to make once again to bring back her memories..and she did asked whether we wanted to join or not.
We( me and my mom)both loves cooking and explore new things..SO we said..:"why not?"


So on the 1st night, we started up by making the containers/mould to fill up the nian gao mixture by using banana leaves and those tins.

"The banana leaves have to be burn slighty  on top charcoal fire to make it more soft and flexible"

Then we tear off the banana leaves into smaller slice and arranged it nicely into the tins with the help of a tomato sauce bottle.

This is us in the middle of working hard to make almost 80++ large,medium,small tins moulds!

That was the 1st day,

If you wonder why we don't finish it all in one day because Aunty Leong and her family have to work during day time in their groceeries shop so do mummy  have to work too.

So we divided the steps into few days 

The next day,

Aunty Leong brought 2 packs of 16kg glutinuos rice to our house(filled with water)

Oh my god...so heavy!

We need to squeeze out the excessed water from the glutinous flour for almost 6 hours.

And now's the time to wait till the night comes!

After a long wait for almost 7-8 hours.....The flour is ready to be breakdown and let's rock the nian gao mixture!

Kick start  throwing in half a box of sugar into it!

Following up by breaking those squeezed flour into the tub and mixed it all together!

Two simple ingredients ,Thats it!

Here we are all having fun with the flour and sugar...

With some CNY songs playing.... we feel extremely happy and united!

In the mean time when the ladies is working on the nian gao mixture..

The daddies are making fire to steam the cakes..

Woohoooo~!!!The day we made nian gao....the wind help us to make this process speed up!
Looking good huh.

In a blink of eye,The mixture is almost ready...You can see in the above picture..The nian gao mixture had been fully dissolved and they are ready to be fill in!

Ignore my flabby arms in here but I AM working really hard to fill all 50++ tins up yo!

Look at all these....does it makes you have goosebumps? hehehehhehehe

So after all the hardwork fillings..

It's time to put them into the big steamer and be PATIENT to steam it for 12-14 hours...

We were supposed agreed to be awake and takiing shift to look after the water level(we need to continuosly add in water to make sure the steaming process never stop and goes well)

BUT....ended up only my super dad who stay awake whole night...

The rest of us (who promised to take shift) doozed off in the tent that my brother built..hahahha

The next day....after steaming for around 10 hours(not yet fully cook)
We saw the progress!!!Everyone was WOW-ing ....
I guess everyone of us who participated this activities feels satisfied and proud!

These are our final products one week later...Look at how silky and shine the top layer of nian gao !
wow........ TAK CUKUP BAGI LAHHHH....


At last my mom told me that we have to make another round for this again due to the over responsed from our other friends and families..NOT FOR SALE LAH><

Hahahahhahaha...overall...we really had a great and unforgettable experience this year..

A Black & Lonely Wednesday

Hey guys....
If anyone of you reading my blog post after seeing my title right now....
You must be thought anything bad happened right...

Well.....actually...not really anything bad..
Just that....last night was really a time for me to experience..
lost...worried....and most of all...lonely..
WE had quarrel....again....what do i mean again?

You people musst be sayin....
"awww....it's just one of the communication between couples"
INDEED,you're right.....for us....everytime we have something gone wrong...
we did quarrel...
But no...we don't shout each other.....we talk to each other..
Until one of us has lost words....and decided to just give up talking ....
and the worst part came...

COLD WAR......

It could be worst if we shout each other...even one of us start laying hands on each when we looses our mind...we BOTH..could be hurt....

I thank god that he never do this to me or neither myself..but cold war is already killing me..
It doesnt means that I let you win....it's means...I HAVE LOST WORD TO YOU..
For me....I will use these time to calm myself down....think of why would we started to fight with this topic..
Think of the obstacles we passed through together...
Think of the happiness he gave to me...
Think of the couple leopard geckos he gifted to me.(they're like our kids)
Think of is it worth to just quarrel like that and let go each other?
Of course not.....

It usually takes me around 1 hour to get myself back...
Then I started missing him......
And last night was the hardest night ever...
He left me without saying anything for almost 3 hours....he came back around 12am++ midnight..

I thought he was going to just fetch his lil sis out and will be back in no time...
But..he didn't...I was keep waiting to him....keep peeking outside the door....
NON show up......There my tears started to flows out....
I am actually worried about him...

Oh wow....why this man always makes me so emotional....
After last night sitting on the couch alone and think...
I think it was because...I doesn't know him well....
and i am not trusting him 100% (in taking care of himself)
All i want is to him come home.....nothing else....
and one of his friend told me that...he won't be home so early...probably like 6am.

I was like.....ok....No matter what..I'll wait...I wait...
I don't want to just lost him like that...
HE is somehow....precious to me..

The wait is finally over...I heard my car keys bell rang..
He is home....At that time..I am sitting on the couch with our little girl Hera..

I somehow tasted some salty liquid falling from my eyes to my mouth..I CRIED...
I got so emotional when I saw him...This MAN....He even smiles at me when he is still outside opening  the door..

I couldnt help but my tears just keep rolling down....
I know I might sounds abit over..but really...
the feelings is like...waiting a person who i never see for so long to come HOME.....

I promised to myself after that....
I would never take him as granted anymore...He might just leave me lasts night..long gone...
But till now....before I leave to office to write all these...He is still sleeping beside me...peacefully...
I can't help and started to touched his face...his hair softly...amazingly...he says stop annoys him..
Hahaha....this man really...driving me crazy....=)

Indeed...last night was a black and lonely(3 hours) wednesday night...
I wrote this down because..I want to remind myself ....
If anything bad or quarrel happens in the future between us...
Give myself sometime to go through this post...
Is he important to me?
Do i want to spend the rest of my life with him...

I know it's too early to think about anything about all these matters...
But...If he willing to go through these with me together..
Why not me too.....

Think.....
Ahhh........what a thoughful post...
I guess I will leave my negative thought in this post..
After this..no more....
